As an environmental economist she puts a price on things that don’t have a market price, but are invaluable like: clean air, forests, green urban spaces etc. She is a proven climate change practitioner, with applied/field experience of using economic skills to design instruments, incentives and investments for climate and nature-based solutions. She has been committed to working on climate for decades, starting as a youth negotiator at the UNFCCC in 2008, featured on NPR, Guardian etc., way before it became so cool.
Global +Local. Mitigation+Adaptation.
Rich experience across major emitting countries (Indonesia, UK/EU, India, Qatar, Uzbekistan…) and the most vulnerable to climate change (Burundi, Tajikistan, Cambodia….) across sectors: forestry, energy, agriculture and transport. She has lived and worked in the field, grounded by the reality of the climate crisis + on global strategy with a bird’s eye view of the macro impacts to businesses and economies.
Partnerships.
She thrives at intersections and brings people together. She speaks the language of multiple stakeholders- government (UK, Qatar, India, Indonesia), international organizations (World Bank, UNFCCC), academia, think tanks (CPI), private sector (PwC, IL&FS) and development partners (GiZ, NORAD). In Indonesia, she led a sustainable low emission palm oil approach which brought private sector, government and forest communities together towards building deforestation-free supply chains.
